Near the village of El Molar in Spain are the two vineyards where we hand pick our Carignan and Granache grapes. Red raspberry, boysenberry and tomato leaf present on the nose. A hint of jam, light spice, and bing cherries along with soft tannins please your palate. Pair with grilled lamb, grilled sausage or a hamburger. Or open the bottle, pour a glass, and sip... you champion.
Food Pairing: . Ideal pairings for Campeon include grilled lamb, pork tenderloin, braised beef, and savory mushroom dishes. Also does well with mushroom risotto, stews with root vegetables or the traditional Spanish pairing of paella and chorizo.
Food to Avoid: Shellfish, cream based sauces, anything heavy on herbs.
Cheese Pairing: Spanish cheeses like Manchego and Petit Basque are perfect, also mild white Cheddar or Red Leicester go well. Sheep and goat cheeses are the more traditional pairing in Catalona.
